Retracing My Steps...

They say that when you say something out loud your more likely to stick with it so here it goes...

This past year has been a bit of an emotional whirlwind for me; in more ways than one.  I feel like I have changed so much however I'm not so sure how much of the change has actually been good - I'm not saying that I've turned all bad and to be honest I'm really happy with a lot of the things that have changed about me however I can't help feel that there are certain aspects of myself that have disappeared and I don't know if I'm happy about it?

I'm not going to go in to huge detail about everything but here's some bullet points of the great things and the not so great things, just to give you an idea...

Great Things:
- Sticking to my guns
- Stepping out of my comfort zone and actually going to events/ parties and socialising with people I've never met before (I know this must sound ridiculous to a lot of people but for me this is a big milestone)
- Booking a holiday to Florida
- Saying 'yes' to things that worry me
- Seeing old friends
- Spending time with my family

Not so great things:
- Bitchiness
- Not telling people how I really feel
- Being too perfectionistic
- Not trusting people
- Losing people
- Being too negative
- Not making enough time for others
- Not always responding to emails or txts
- feeling lost, like I'm not progressing and that this is it...
- I've stopped dreaming about the future
- Not being me
- Guilt

I know that a lot of that probably sounds ridiculous but it's how I feel. I can't pin point or bullet point where this change has stemmed from because I never used to feel like this. The old me would of had a much longer 'Great Things' list...

Anyway, I'm writing this because I want to retrace my steps and pickup some of the old me . The girl who knew when to say no, who got out of negative situations, who stayed away from the catty bitchiness and general crap that is just so insignificant it's positively ridiculous! I just want to laugh, make new friends, build better relationships with existing ones, stop apologising for who I am and feeling guilty all of the time. I want to go back and set out to do what I have always planned to - live in the city, sing, act, travel, have a successful YouTube channel and work really hard.

I don't want to be 80 and look back at my life and say 'what if' or 'I regret that' Sadly I know a handful of people who do feel like that and I want to avoid conforming to the feeling.

So here's my plan to get back a bit of the old me - in bullet points...

- Remove negative individuals from my internal 'I need approval from' list
- Be open with people
- Tell my friends that I appreciate them
- Put pictures up in my house of happy memories and family holiday's
- Exercise more
- Stop dwelling on the past
- Walk away from toxic situations
- Start working towards having the following - living in the city, singing, acting, travelling and enjoying my YouTube channel to the fullest.

Anyway I know this post was the biggest ramble ever and probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense to whoever decides to read it but it's made me feel better and has put positive pressure on to me to implement this change and to retrace my steps a little.

TOPSHOP: Nail Polish Haul

Hey beautes,

Hope you are all doing good?

I was in town the other day and decided to have a wander about Topshop to kill some time and I spotted these lovelies. Now anyone who knows me, knows that nail polish is my all time favourite beauty product to purchase like, ever! And because of that I have a rather large collection Ooops... So anyway when it comes to deciding whether to purchase a new polish I have to unfortunately be selective (I'm rapidly running out of storage for them - Eeek!)

Anyhooo, these two were just too good to pass by and I don't have anything else in my collection like them. So enough waffling...

- Adrenalin
Well does this not just scream 80's disco ball in the best way possible?! Honestly I cant even explain to you how beautiful and fun this is in person. Unfortunately my camera lens/ my photography doesn't do it justice at all but trust me on this one if you like sparkly pinky/ purples you'll love this! I have a feeling that this will very quickly become my go to night out polish <3

- Trust Me
I'll be the first to admit that it doesn't take a lot for me to hurl a Pink nail polish in to my shopping basket, however this beaute is something else... I have never seen a dusky, vintage pink quite like this one. It looks so elegant and clean on the nails and really reminds me of my ballet shoe's. I've already painted my nails with this twice since I bought it and I absolutely love it - two coats and you're good to go which is always a win when it comes to a lightly coloured varnish.

Have you bought any new polishes recently?

Love

Haul: The Body Shop

Untitled Untitled Untitled

I took a trip up to Gunwharf Quay's this past weekend and decided to have a mooch about the outlet shops. Whilst I was there I spotted that they had a Body Shop store (whoop!) So obviously me being me I couldn't resist picking up a couple of bits!

So here's a run down of everything that I bought :)

So the first product I swiftly plonked into my shopping basket was the cult favourite - Strawberry Shower Gel. The sweet strawb scent of this reminds me of my mum because she used to use this on me every bath time when I was little.  I also grabbed a Born Lippy in the same scent because I love me some lip balm and hadn't used one of these in ages.

Next I picked up the Seaweed Iconic Clay Mask for oily/ combo skin; now anyone who knows me reading this will think I've gone mad because my skin is dryer than the desert - deffo not oily at all... However I've started going to the gym a lot more recently and as grim as it sounds I sweat at the gym! And I've just noticed my skin is getting a little congested, now I don't know if that's down to the gym or if my skin is just changing but I'm not a fan! So I did a bit of research and I heard that this is excellent on the T-Zone area to try and combat any clogged pores and what not... I haven't tried it yet but I'll report back and let you know how I get on.

Finally I thought I'd try out the All In One BB Cream. I've heard lots of people rave about this so I thought I'd see what all of the fuss was about! The cream took me by surprise at first because when you swatch it, it comes out white and doesn't actually form a skin tone colour until you work it into the skin. I've yet to wear this but as soon as I've gathered my thoughts on it I'll most likely do a review :)

Anyhooo, I hope you beautes enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments what I should next pick up from the Body Shop?
